Mechanical behavior of amorphous alloys

TLDR
In this paper, a review of recent advances in understanding the mechanical behavior of metallic glasses, with particular emphasis on the deformation and fracture mechanisms, is presented, where the role of glass structure on mechanical properties, and conversely, the effect of deformation upon glass structure, are also described.

Microstructures and properties of high-entropy alloys

TL;DR: The concept of high entropy introduces a new path of developing advanced materials with unique properties, which cannot be achieved by the conventional micro-alloying approach based on only one dominant element as mentioned in this paper.

Shear bands in metallic glasses

TL;DR: A comprehensive and up-to-date review on the rapid progress achieved very recently on this subject can be found in this article, where key materials-science issues of general interest, including the initiation of shear localization starting from shear transformations, the temperature and velocity reached in the propagating or sliding band, the structural evolution inside the shear-band material, and the parameters that strongly influence shearbanding are discussed.

Formation of glasses from liquids and biopolymers.

TL;DR: The onset of a sharp change in ddT( is the Debye-Waller factor and T is temperature) in proteins, which is controversially indentified with the glass transition in liquids, is shown to be general for glass formers and observable in computer simulations of strong and fragile ionic liquids, where it proves to be close to the experimental glass transition temperature.

Molecular Transport in Liquids and Glasses

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors derived a relation between the diffusion constant D in a liquid of hard spheres and the free volume vf, which is based on the concept that statistical redistribution of free volume occasionally opens up voids large enough for diffusive displacement.
