Autophagy and neurodegeneration

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors consider how certain neurodegenerative diseases may be associated with impaired autophagy and how this may affect pathology and discuss some of the signaling pathways that may be amenable to therapeutic targeting for these goals.

Is Melatonin the Cornucopia of the 21st Century

TL;DR: The efficacy, safety and side effects of melatonin supplementation in treating oxidative stress- and/or inflammation-related disorders, such as obesity, cardiovascular diseases, immune disorders, infectious diseases, cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, as well as osteoporosis and infertility are reviewed.

Role of sleep deprivation in immune-related disease risk and outcomes.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors reviewed recent advancements on the immune responses to sleep deprivation as evidenced by experimental and epidemiological studies, the pathophysiology, and the role for the sleep deprivation-induced immune changes in increasing the risk for chronic diseases.
