Abstract
We derive extremal black hole solutions for a variety of four dimensional models which, after Kaluza-Klein reduction, admit a description in terms of 3D gravity coupled to a sigma model with symmetric target space. The solutions are in correspondence with certain nilpotent generators of the isometry group. In particular, we provide the exact solution for a non-BPS black hole with generic charges and asymptotic moduli in = 2 supergravity coupled to one vector multiplet. Multi-centered solutions can also be generated with this technique. It is shown that the non-supersymmetric solutions lack the intricate moduli space of bound configurations that are typical of the supersymmetric case.

Generating geodesic flows and supergravity solutions

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors consider the problem of constructing a geodesic with the minimal number of free parameters such that all other geodesics are generated through isometrics, and give an intrinsic characterization of this solution in a wide class of orbits for various supergravities in different dimensions.

Black holes and critical points in moduli space

TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied the stabilization of scalars near a supersymmetric black hole horizon using the equation of motion of a particle moving in a potential and background metric, and they showed that extremal value of the central charge provides the minimal value of BPS mass and of the potential under the condition that the moduli space metric is positive at the critical point.

Black hole entropy function and the attractor mechanism in higher derivative gravity

TL;DR: The entropy of the black hole is given by the value of the entropy function at this extremum, and the values of the scalar fields at the horizon as well as the sizes of AdS2 and SD?2 are determined by extremizing this entropy function with respect to the corresponding parameters.

$4$-dimensional black holes from Kaluza-Klein theories

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors consider generalizations in 4 dimensions of the Einstein-Maxwell equations which typically arise from Kaluza-Klein theories and specify conditions such that stationary solutions lead to non-linearσ-models for symmetric spaces.
