Replanting Avulsed Primary Teeth

TL;DR: The fact that the child held the teeth in her mouth en route to the hospital--bathed in saliva and blood, still attached by the bit of gingival tissue in the warm mouth's environment--helped to contribute to a positive situation as well as did the good home care.

Thermomechanical analysis of dental gutta-percha.

TL;DR: In this paper, three common commercial gutta-percha endodontic filling points (Hygienic, Mynol, and Maillefer Pink) were submitted to thermomechanical analysis under pressures ranging from 0.01 to 0.2 N.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cross-reactivity between gutta-percha and natural rubber latex: Assumptions vs. reality

TL;DR: The ELISA and SPT results demonstrated that some allergenic cross-reactivity exists between raw gutta-percha and raw NRL, and other materials used in obturating root canals may be irritating in patients with pre-existing allergies.
Journal ArticleDOI

Generic tricalcium phosphate plugs: an adjunct in endodontics.

TL;DR: Generic tricalcium phosphate is a powder that when hydrated handles like silver amalgam and is condensable into a hard plug deep inside the tooth, and its use as an apical plug and a furcation perforation plug is illustrated.
Journal ArticleDOI

In vitro evaluation of antimicrobial efficacy of endodontic irrigants

TL;DR: The greatest antimicrobial effects were observed in groups treated with 5% NaOCl and 17% EDTA, Interestingly, the effectiveness of EDTA could be ascribed to its capability of detaching biofilm from canal walls.
