Diagnosis of Vertical Root Fractures in Endodontically Treated Teeth Based on Clinical and Radiographic Indices: A Systematic Review

TL;DR: Evidence-based data concerning the diagnostic accuracy and clinical effectiveness of clinical and radiographic dental evaluation for the diagnosis of VRF in endodontically treated teeth are lacking.

Effect of EDTA, Sonic, and Ultrasonic Activation on the Penetration of Sodium Hypochlorite into Simulated Lateral Canals: An In Vitro Study

TL;DR: The addition of EDTA did not result in better penetration of irrigants into the lateral canals and was limited to the level of penetration of the needle.

Cyclic fatigue and fracture characteristics of ground and twisted nickel-titanium rotary files.

TL;DR: TF showed a significantly higher resistance to cyclic fatigue than other nickel-titanium files that were manufactured with a grinding process (P < .05), and instruments with abundant machining grooves seemed to have a higher risk of fatigue.

Reactions of Connective Tissue to Mineral Trioxide Aggregate and Amalgam

TL;DR: One notable finding is the presence of dystrophic calcification in connective tissue adjacent to MTA; this finding is consistent with the hypothesis of hard tissue induction by this material.

Ultrasonic debridement of root canals: an insight into the mechanisms involved.

TL;DR: It is concluded that transient cavitation does not play a role in canal cleaning; however, acoustic streaming does appear to be the main mechanism involved.
