Evaluation of the combination of flurbiprofen and tramadol for management of endodontic pain.

TL;DR: The results suggest that a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug/opiate combination, together with endodontic therapy, may be useful in the management of endODontic pain.
Journal ArticleDOI

Gender Differences in Analgesia for Endodontic Pain

TL;DR: Investigation of the analgesic efficacy of three oral medication groups on postoperative endodontic pain in male and female dental patients found that ibuprofen 600 mg provided statistically significantly greater analgesia than placebo at 6 and 12 hours; sex-dependent differences were noted within the pentazocine/naloxone group, which showed significantly greater agony in females compared with males.

Efficacy of smear layer removal at the root tip by using ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid and erbium, chromium: yttrium, scandium, gallium garnet laser.

TL;DR: Use of a laser with a plain fiber tip, which produces cavitation in the irrigant, has potential as an improved alternative method for removing of the smear layer from the apical region of a straight root canal.

The diffusion of innovation in dentistry: A review using rotary nickel-titanium technology as an example

TL;DR: The diffusion of innovation in dentistry is reviewed, with an emphasis on the adoption of rotary nickel-titanium endodontic instruments and the importance of both dental school teaching and continuing education in Dentistry is highlighted.
Journal ArticleDOI

Apical root canal microbiota as determined by reverse-capture checkerboard analysis of cryogenically ground root samples from teeth with apical periodontitis.

TL;DR: This study identified several bacterial taxa in the apical and middle/coronal segments of primarily infected root canal system by using pulverized root segments and a culture-independent molecular method.
