TLDR
Static variables did not predict fluid responsiveness in children, which was consistent with evidence in adults, but the evidence for dynamic variables based on plethysmography was inconclusive.Abstract:
BACKGROUND:Administration of fluid to improve cardiac output is the mainstay of hemodynamic resuscitation. Not all patients respond to fluid therapy, and excessive fluid administration is harmful. Predicting fluid responsiveness can be challenging, particularly in children. Numerous hemodynamic variread more

TL;DR: A large cohort of international experts was able to achieve consensus regarding many recommendations for the best care of children with sepsis, acknowledging that most aspects of care had relatively low quality of evidence resulting in the frequent issuance of weak recommendations.

Does Respiratory Variation in Inferior Vena Cava Diameter Predict Fluid Responsiveness: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
TL;DR: Respiratory variation in IVC diameter has limited ability to predict fluid responsiveness, particularly in spontaneously ventilating patients, and clinical context should be taken into account when using IVC ultrasound to help make treatment decisions.

TL;DR: The aim of this work was to systematically review all the previously published studies assessing the accuracy of the diameter of IVC or its respiratory variations measured through US in predicting fluid responsiveness, and found an extreme heterogeneity of included studies.

Bias in meta-analysis detected by a simple, graphical test
TL;DR: Funnel plots, plots of the trials' effect estimates against sample size, are skewed and asymmetrical in the presence of publication bias and other biases Funnel plot asymmetry, measured by regression analysis, predicts discordance of results when meta-analyses are compared with single large trials.

Fluid resuscitation in septic shock: a positive fluid balance and elevated central venous pressure are associated with increased mortality.

TL;DR: It was concluded that in mechanically ventilated patients with acute circulatory failure related to sepsis, analysis of DeltaPp is a simple method for predicting and assessing the hemodynamic effects of VE, and that DeltaP p is a more reliable indicator of fluid responsiveness than DeltaPs.
