Preparation and Properties of Monodisperse Latex Spheres with Controlled Magnetic Moment for Field-Induced Colloidal Crystallization and (Dipolar) Chain Formation
TL;DR: The preparation and properties of monodisperse magnetic poly(methyl methacrylate) latex spheres that exhibit field-induced colloidal crystallization to exotic morphologies controlled by the geometry of the gradient are reported.
Journal ArticleDOI
Magnetic poly(glycidyl methacrylate) microspheres prepared by dispersion polymerization in the presence of electrostatically stabilized ferrofluids
Daniel Horák,Nataliya Benedyk +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, fine magnetite nanoparticles, both electrostatically stabilized and nonstabilized, were synthesized in situ by precipitation of Fe(II) and Fe(III) salts in alkaline medium.

A highly efficient magnetic solid acid catalyst for synthesis of 2,4,5-trisubstituted imidazoles under ultrasound irradiation
Javad Safari,Zohre Zarnegar +1 more
TL;DR: Fe(3)O(4) nanoparticles were prepared by chemical coprecipitation method and subsequently coated with 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES) via silanization reaction and SA-MNPs was found to be a mild and effective solid acid catalyst for the efficient, one-pot, three-component synthesis of 2,4,5-trisubstituted imidazoles under ultrasound irradiation.

Facile Interfacial Coprecipitation To Fabricate Hydrophilic Amine-Capped Magnetite Nanoparticles
Ke Tao,Hongjing Dou,Kang Sun +2 more
TL;DR: By using an interfacial coprecipitation method, hydrophilic magnetite nanoparticles capped with amine groups are facilely fabricated in this article, where di-n-propylamine and a water/cyclohexane mixture act as the alkali and medium, respectively, so that the coprecipient reaction is confined only to the interface between water and cyclohexanes.

Magnetic Properties of Stable Dispersions of Subdomain Magnetite Particles
Robert Kaiser,G. Miskolczy +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, stable colloidal dispersions of subdomain-size magnetic particles have been prepared that retain their liquid characteristics in the presence of a magnetic field, correcting for the formation of a nonmagnetic surface mantle one unit cell thick.
