Fabrication and evaluation of anti-cancer efficacy of lactoferrin-coated maghemite and magnetite nanoparticles.

TL;DR: Cellular studies exhibited that Lf increased the toxicity of NPs and synthesized Lf-MNs provide the highest potency both on mortality and ROS level, which may provide promising data for development of potential anticancer agents.

A novel polymeric micelle-decorated Fe3O4/Au core–shell nanoparticle for pH and reduction-responsive intracellular co-delivery of doxorubicin and 6-mercaptopurine

TL;DR: A novel Au-coated Fe3O4 nanoparticles capped with pH/redox dual-responsive nanomicelles (NMs) for intracellular co-delivery of 6-mercaptopurine and doxorubicin and it is anticipated that the developed smart nanocarrier can be applied for co-Delivery of multi-anticancer drugs to minimize the side effects of drugs.
Journal ArticleDOI

Tuning Fe3O4 nanoparticle dispersion through pH in PVA/guar gum/electrospun membranes.

TL;DR: In vitro biocompatibility tests using L929 cells indicates adequate levels of cytotoxicity and cell adhesion/proliferation assays for both membranes obtained from non-alkaline and alkaline stock solutions, which have potential for biomedical applications as biodegradable wound dressing.
Journal ArticleDOI

Shape transitions of giant liposomes induced by an anisotropic spontaneous curvature.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that an electrostatic interaction between the nanoparticles and the membrane triggers the shape transition and the condition of rotational symmetry along the field axis leads either to a prolate or to an oblate ellipsoid.

Magnetic Properties of Stable Dispersions of Subdomain Magnetite Particles

TL;DR: In this article, stable colloidal dispersions of subdomain-size magnetic particles have been prepared that retain their liquid characteristics in the presence of a magnetic field, correcting for the formation of a nonmagnetic surface mantle one unit cell thick.
