Thermo-responsive magnetic liposomes for hyperthermia-triggered local drug delivery.

TL;DR: The MagABC liposomes, when physically targeted to tumour cells in culture by a permanent magnetic field yielded a substantial increase in intracellular accumulation of DOX as compared to non-magnetic ammonium bicarbonate (ABC) liposome, which resulted in a parallel increase in cytotoxicity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Performance of magnetic talc titanium oxide composite for thorium ions adsorption from acidic solution

TL;DR: In this article, the magnetic talc titanium oxide composite was prepared, characterized and tested for thorium removal from acidic solution using batch experiment technique and obtained results showed that the thorium adsorption was pH dependent.

Theranostic Magnetic Nanostructures (MNS) for Cancer

TL;DR: In this article, the authors report some of the key developments in recent years in regard to Magnetic Nanostructures (MNS) as potential theranostic carriers and discuss that properly functionalized MNS can be designed to provide remarkable in vivo stability and accompanying pharmacokinetics exhibit organ localization that can be tailored for specific applications.

Application of magnetite sols in environmental technology

TL;DR: Theoretically and experimentally, it could be shown that 10 nm magnetite particles can be stabilized in aqueous carriers by electrostatic and/or Born repulsion, also under action of external magnetic fields as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fabrication and Cytotoxicity of Gemcitabine-Functionalized Magnetite Nanoparticles

TL;DR: The results showed that the transport of the drug improves the cytotoxic effects in comparison with the one produced by free Gemcitabine for the BT474 and HepG2 cells.

Magnetic Properties of Stable Dispersions of Subdomain Magnetite Particles

TL;DR: In this article, stable colloidal dispersions of subdomain-size magnetic particles have been prepared that retain their liquid characteristics in the presence of a magnetic field, correcting for the formation of a nonmagnetic surface mantle one unit cell thick.

Methods of Improving the Sensitivity of the Bitter Technique

J R Garrood
TL;DR: In this article, a thorough investigation into the nature of magnetite colloids suitable for the Bitter technique has been undertaken, and changes in the method of manufacture are proposed to improve performance.
