Abstract
This book presents a comprehensive review of the subject of gravitational effects in quantum field theory. Although the treatment is general, special emphasis is given to the Hawking black hole evaporation effect, and to particle creation processes in the early universe. The last decade has witnessed a phenomenal growth in this subject. This is the first attempt to collect and unify the vast literature that has contributed to this development. All the major technical results are presented, and the theory is developed carefully from first principles. Here is everything that students or researchers will need to embark upon calculations involving quantum effects of gravity at the so-called one-loop approximation level.

Helical Magnetic Fields from Inflation

TL;DR: In this paper, a non-invariant conformal term in the electromagnetic Lagrangian of the form, where I(ϕ) is a pseudoscalar function of a nontrivial background field ϕ, is considered.

Planck scale black hole dark matter from Higgs inflation

TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied the production of primordial black hole (PBH) dark matter in the case when the Standard Model Higgs coupled non-minimally to gravity is the inflaton.

CT and CJ up to next-to-leading order in in the conformally invariant O(N) vector model for 2 < d < 4

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used operator product expansions and graphical ansatz for the four-point function of the fundamental field φa(x) in the conformally invariant O(N) vector model to calculate the next-to-leading order in 1 N values of the quantities CT and CJ.

A New Perspective on DGP Gravity

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined brane induced gravity on codimension-1 branes, a.k.a. DGP gravity, as a theory of five-dimensional gravity containing a certain class four-dimensional branes.

Accelerated detector-quantum field correlations: From vacuum fluctuations to radiation flux

TL;DR: In this article, the authors analyzed the interaction of a uniformly accelerated detector with a quantum field in (3+1)D spacetime, aiming at the issue of how kinematics can render vacuum fluctuations the appearance of thermal radiance in the detector (Unruh effect) and how they engender flux of radiation for observers afar.

Particle Creation by Black Holes

TL;DR: In this article, it is shown that quantum mechanical effects cause black holes to create and emit particles as if they were hot bodies with temperature, which leads to a slow decrease in the mass of the black hole and to its eventual disappearance.

Foundations of the Theory of Dynamical Systems of Infinitely Many Degrees of Freedom, II

TL;DR: The notion of quantum field remains at this time still rather elusive from a rigorous standpoint as mentioned in this paper, and it was recognized very early by Bohr and Rosenfeld that even in the case of a free field, no physical meaning could be attached to the values of the field at a particular point, only the suitably smoothed averages over finite space-time regions had such a meaning.

Evidence for the existence of gravitational radiation from measurements of the binary pulsar psr 1913+16

TL;DR: The results of four years of timing observations of PSR 1913+16 made with the 305m telescope at the Arecibo Observatory at frequencies near 430 and 1410 MHz are summarized in this paper.
