Spatial and temporal evaluation of long term trend (2005–2014) of OMI retrieved NO2 and SO2 concentrations in Henan Province, China
TLDR
Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper analyzed long term trend of NO2 and SO2 levels (2005-2014), retrieved from Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI) board on the NASA's Aura satellite, in an important region of China.About:

Water quality trend assessment in Jakarta: A rapidly growing Asian megacity
Pingping Luo,Shuxin Kang,Apip,Meimei Zhou,Jiqiang Lyu,Siti Aisyah,Mishra Binaya,Ram Krishna Regmi,Daniel Nover +8 more
TL;DR: Although Jakarta’s water quality has shown some improvement, it remains heavily impaired and the average value of BOD is low in upper stream stations compared to middle and lower stream stations, and TSS trends show increasing trends.
Satellite measurements oversee China's sulfur dioxide emission reductions from coal-fired power plants
TL;DR: In this paper, an improved two-dimensional Gaussian fitting method was developed to estimate SO2 burdens under complex background conditions, by using the accurate local background columns and the customized fitting domains for each target source.

Estimating ground level NO2 concentrations over central-eastern China using a satellite-based geographically and temporally weighted regression model
TL;DR: A geographically and temporally weighted regression model is introduced to treat the spatio-temporal non-stationarities between tropospheric-columnar and ground level NO2 and it is demonstrated that the GTWR model outperforms the ordinary least squares (OLS), the geographically weighted regression (GWR), and the temporally weighed regression (TWR).

TL;DR: A hybrid model composed of the theory of "decomposition and ensemble", an extreme learning machine and an advanced heuristic algorithm was developed for pollution contaminant prediction and provides deterministic and interval forecasting for tackling the uncertainty of future air quality.

Air pollution in mega cities in China
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present the current state of understanding of the air pollution problems in China's mega cities and identify the immediate challenges to understanding and controlling air pollution in these densely populated areas.

Sulfur dioxide and primary carbonaceous aerosol emissions in China and India, 1996-2010
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors developed a new inventory of SO2 and primary carbonaceous aerosol (i.e., black and organic carbon, BC and OC) emissions from these two countries for the period 1996-2010, using a technology-based methodology.
