TLDR
In this article, a character table for the group of the wave vector at certain points of symmetry in the Brillouin zone is given, and a possible reason for the complications which may make a simple effective mass concept invalid for some crystals of this type structure is presented.Abstract:
Character tables for the "group of the wave vector" at certain points of symmetry in the Brillouin zone are given. The additional degeneracies due to time reversal symmetry are indicated. The form of energy vs wave vector at these points of symmetry is derived. A possible reason for the complications which may make a simple effective mass concept invalid for some crystals of this type structure will be presented.read more

TL;DR: In this paper, a large spin splitting of 236 meV and opposite spin polarizations up to 80% along out-of-plane direction (z axis) in K and K′ valleys were observed from both spin and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (spin-ARPES) and density functional theory (DFT).

Optically controlled spin polarization in a spin transistor
TL;DR: In this paper, the spin-polarized transport through a quantum dot irradiated by continuous circularly polarized light was investigated, and it was shown that sign reversal of current polarization can be modulated for a range of bias voltage.

Ferromagnetic/nonmagnetic nanostructures for the electrical measurement of the Spin Hall effect and the detection of domain walls
TL;DR: In this article, a spin Hall effect (SHE) and its inverse spin Hall Effect (ISHE) were used to detect magnetic domain walls in ferromagnetic/non-magnetic (F/N) nanostructures.

TL;DR: In this article, the Hall coefficients R, Seebeck coefficients S, and electrical resistivities ρ of two undoped samples of p-type GaSb were measured over the temperature ranges 20-300 K for R and ρ and 40-300 k for S. The theoretical transport coefficients were fitted in a selfconsistent way to the experimental data by adjusting the material parameters.

Effect of Time-Reversal Symmetry on Energy Bands of Crystals
TL;DR: In this paper, a criterion is developed to facilitate calculation of when and how such additional degeneracy will occur, and the consequences of the reality of the Hamiltonian are tabulated for a number of cases.
