Journal ArticleDOI
Cyclopentadienyl/alkoxo ligand exchange in group 4 metallocenes: a convenient route to heterometallic species.
Piotr Sobota,Anna Dra̧g-Jarza̧bek,Łukasz John,Józef Utko,Lucjan B. Jerzykiewicz,Marek Duczmal +5 more
TL;DR: A simple and efficient strategy for the synthesis of nonorganometallic heterometallic clusters from cheap organometallic precursors is reported, resulting in a group of magnetic clusters that consists of Mn(4) subunits held together by two mu-Cl bridges.
Journal ArticleDOI
Enhanced pH stability, cell viability and reduced degradation rate of poly(L-lactide)-based composite in vitro: effect of modified magnesium oxide nanoparticles.
TL;DR: The modified MgO nanoparticles by a copolymer containing the malic acid and low molecular weight poly(L-lactide-co-malic acid, PLMA) have been successfully prepared and exhibited the higher cell viability and decrease the toxicity to the cell in the degradation process of PLLA in vitro.
Journal ArticleDOI
A disc-like Co7 cluster with a solvent dependent catecholase activity
M. Naqi Ahamad,Farasha Sama,Muhammad Nadeem Akhtar,Yan-Cong Chen,Ming-Liang Tong,Musheer Ahmad,Mohammad Shahid,Sahid Hussain,Kulsum Khan +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a new mixed valence antiferromagnetic Co7 disc characterized by spectral, crystallographic and magnetic studies exhibited solvent dependent catecholase activity with Kcat(MeOH) = 2026 h−1.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthetic, structural, spectroscopic and theoretical study of a Mn(III)-Cu(II) dimer containing a Jahn-Teller compressed Mn ion.
Nelly Berg,Thomas N. Hooper,Junjie Liu,Christopher C. Beedle,Saurabh Singh,Gopalan Rajaraman,Stergios Piligkos,Stephen Hill,Euan K. Brechin,Leigh F. Jones +9 more
TL;DR: The heterobimetallic complex [Cu(II)Mn(III)(L)(2)(py)(4)](ClO(4))·EtOH (1) built using the pro-ligand 2,2'-biphenol (LH(2), contains a rare example of a Jahn-Teller compressed Mn(III) centre, with magnetisation measurements at low temperatures and high fields suggesting significant anisotropy.
Journal ArticleDOI
A prototype hybrid 7π quinone-fused 1,3,2-dithiazolyl radical
Andreas Decken,Aaron Mailman,Jack Passmore,J. M. Rautiainen,Wolfgang Scherer,Ernst-Wilhelm Scheidt +5 more
TL;DR: The prototype hybrid quinone-thiazyl radical 3˙ was fully characterized by IR, Raman microscopy, EI-MS, elemental analysis, solution and solid state EPR and was found to form π*-π* dimers in the solid state as determined by single crystal X-ray crystallography.

Magnetic bistability in a metal-ion cluster
TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the magnetization of the Mn12 cluster is highly anisotropic and the magnetisation relaxation time becomes very long below a temperature of 4 K, giving rise to pronounced hysteresis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Quantum computing in molecular magnets
TL;DR: In this article, an implementation of Grover's algorithm that uses molecular magnets was proposed, which can be used to build dense and efficient memory devices based on the Grover algorithm, in which one single crystal can serve as a storage unit of a dynamic random access memory device.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lanthanide Double-Decker Complexes Functioning as Magnets at the Single-Molecular Level
TL;DR: Double-decker phthalocyanine complexes with Tb3+ or Dy3+ showed slow magnetization relaxation as a single-molecular property and a significant temperature rise results from a mechanism in the relaxation process different from that in the transition-metal-cluster SMMs.
Journal ArticleDOI
High-spin molecules: [Mn12O12(O2CR)16(H2O)4]
Roberta Sessoli,Hui Lien Tsai,Ann R. Schake,Sheyi Wang,John B. Vincent,Kirsten Folting,Dante Gatteschi,George Christou,David N. Hendrickson +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the electrochemical and magnetochemical properties of [Mn 12 O 12 (O 2 CPh) 16 (H 2 O) 4 ] (3), its solvate 3.
