TLDR
The acid-detergent fiber method (ADF) as mentioned in this paper is a fiber method based on cetyl trimethylammonium bromide to dissolve proteins in acid solution.
Abstract
The capacity of cetyl trimethylammonium bromide to dissolve proteins in acid solution has been utilized in development of a method, called acid-detergent fiber method (ADF), which is not only a fiber determination in itself bnt also the major preparatory step in the determination of lignin. The entire procedure for determining fiber and lignin is considerably more rapid than presently published methods. Compositional studies show ADF to consist chiefly of lignin and polysaccharides. Correlations with the new fiber method and digestibility of 18 forages (r = —0.79) showed it to be somewhat superior to crude fiber (r = —0.73) in estimating nutritive valué. The correla-

Role of organic fractions on C decomposition and N mineralization of animal wastes in soil

TL;DR: In this paper, the relative contributions of water-soluble, water non-solvable, Van Soest solvable, and neutral detergent fiber (NDF) fractions of pig slurry, cattle slurry (PS), CS, cattle farmyard manure (FYM), and composted cattle FARM (CFYM) to the overall C and N mineralization of the raw wastes were studied by incubating treated soil for 107 days at 15°C under non-limiting N conditions.

Correlating detergent fiber analysis and dietary fiber analysis data for corn stover collected by NIRS

TL;DR: In this article, the authors determined whether it is feasible to correlate detergent fiber analysis values to glucan and xylan content determined by dietary fiber analysis methods for corn stover.

Enhancement of biogas production from swine manure by a lignocellulolytic microbial consortium

TL;DR: The potential of a lignocellulolytic microbial consortium (LMC) for enhancing biogas production from fibre-rich swine manure was assessed and it was shown to increase the efficiency of total solid, chemical oxygen demand removal and degradation of cellulose and hemicelluloses.

Building beef cow nutritional programs with the 1996 NRC beef cattle requirements model.

TL;DR: A framework in which 1996NRC-applicable data can be generated is described and seasonal changes in nutrients on native range and subirrigated meadow are described to predict nutrient balance for cattle grazing these forages, and recommendations for using the1996NRC for forage-fed cattle are made.

Preparation of Lignin Nanoparticles from Wood Waste for Wood Surface Treatment.

TL;DR: Wood samples dip-coated with lignin nanoparticles showed promising surface modifications resembling a sort of film of fused LNPs, which performed significantly better in artificial weathering experiments than uncoated reference samples.
