As shown here, the modifications offer designers greater flexibility in decoupling capacitor design for 90nm and below
Besides, to add one bit, the dummy capacitor is reused which is realized by C–2C structure instead of the unit capacitor C. Compared to the conventional architecture, the proposed capacitor switching method achieves 99.6 % energy saving and 87.21 % capacitor area reduction, respectively.
The proposed method determines the near-optimum solution for the capacitor sizing problem.
The cost of electrode material for capacitor can be reduced remarkably.
The results illustrate that, at air inlet velocity 0.96 m/s, the maximum percentage of the saved power per ton refrigeration for each kg phase change material with respect to conventional AC unit is about 11.6%, 6.7% and 5.4% for inlet air temperature 45 °C, 40 °C and 35 °C respectively.
The lumped spring-mass system is adequate for modelling the air-gap capacitor.
