Efficacy and safety of nerinetide for the treatment of acute ischaemic stroke (ESCAPE-NA1): a multicentre, double-blind, randomised controlled trial.

Michael D. Hill, +776 more
- 14 Mar 2020 -
TL;DR: Nerinetide did not improve the proportion of patients achieving good clinical outcomes after endovascular thrombectomy compared with patients receiving placebo, and this trial is registered with ClinicalTrials.gov, NCT02930018.
Journal ArticleDOI

Contributors to the Excess Stroke Mortality in Rural Areas in the United States.

TL;DR: The higher stroke mortality in rural regions seemed to be attributable to higher stroke incidence rather than case fatality, and a higher prevalence of risk factors and lower socioeconomic status only modestly contributed to the increased risk of incident stroke risk in rural areas.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fixed Compared With Autoregulation-Oriented Blood Pressure Thresholds After Mechanical Thrombectomy for Ischemic Stroke

TL;DR: Noninvasive determination of personalized BP thresholds for stroke patients is feasible and may present a better strategy compared with the classical approach of maintaining systolic BP below a predetermined value, though a randomized trial is needed to determine the optimal approach for hemodynamic management.
