Journal ArticleDOI
Aqueous high-temperature chemistry of carbo- and heterocycles. 7. Monosubstituted benzenes with two carbon atom side chains oxygenated at the .alpha.- and .beta.-positions
Journal ArticleDOI
4-Fluoro-3',4',5'-trimethoxychalcone as a new anti-invasive agent. From discovery to initial validation in an in vivo metastasis model.
Bart Roman,Tine De Ryck,Atanas Patronov,Svetoslav Slavov,Barbara Vanhoecke,Alan R. Katritzky,Alan R. Katritzky,Marc Bracke,Christian V. Stevens +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors report on their quest for novel, clinically relevant inhibitors of local invasion, based on a broad screen of natural products in a phenotypic assay, starting from micromolar chalcone hits, a predictive QSAR model for diaryl propenones was developed, and synthetic analogues with a 100-fold increase in potency were obtained.
Journal ArticleDOI
Oxyazapeptides: Synthesis, Structure Determination, and Conformational Analysis
Suvendu Biswas,Nader E. Abo-Dya,Nader E. Abo-Dya,Alexander A. Oliferenko,Amir Khiabani,Peter J. Steel,Khalid A. Alamry,Alan R. Katritzky,Alan R. Katritzky +8 more
TL;DR: Conformational analysis supported by X-ray suggests that the oxyaza moiety can effectively induce β-turns, which can make the newly discovered oxyazapeptide scaffold a useful tool for drug discovery and for design of biologics.
Journal ArticleDOI
1-(Azidomethyl)benzotriazole and -5-phenyl-1,2,3,4-tetrazole as 1, 3-dipolar cycloaddition components
TL;DR: In this paper, 1-(Azidomethyl)benzotriazole reacts with alkynes to give mixtures of isomeric 1,2,3-triazoles, whereas the interactions of -5-phenyl-1,2.3,4-tetrazole with alkenes proceed regioselectively to form 1, 2,3,triazolines and/or aziridines and enamines in good yields.
Journal ArticleDOI
A 13C study of hydroxymethyl derivatives of five-membered ring heterocycles
Alan R. Katritzky,Kam W Law +1 more
TL;DR: The 13C spectra of the hydroxymethyl derivatives of pyrrole, furan, 5,5-dimethylhydantoin, imidazole, thiophene, pyrazole, and phenol have been studied and assigned as mentioned in this paper.
