Compositional characterization of pyrolysis fuel oil from Naphtha and vacuum gas oil
Nenad Ristic,Marko Djokic,Elisabeth Delbeke,Arturo González Quiroga,Christian V. Stevens,Kevin Van Geem,Guy B. Marin +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, two PFOs derived from naphtha and vacuum gas oil (V-PFO) were characterized using elemental analysis, SARA fractionation, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, and comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography (GC × GC) coupled to a flame ionization detector (FID) and time-of-flight mass spectrometer (TOF-MS).
Journal ArticleDOI
A copper-catalyzed domino radical cyclization route to benzospiro-indolizidinepyrrolidinones
Christian V. Stevens,Ellen Van Meenen,Kurt G. R. Masschelein,Yves Eeckhout,Wim Hooghe,Bart D’hondt,Victor N. Nemykin,Viktor V. Zhdankin +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the synthesis of benzospiro-indolizidinepyrrolidinones is described by a domino atom transfer radical cyclization reaction using a copper catalyst.
Journal Article
Bioinspired, biomimetic, double-enzymatic mineralization of hydrogels for bone regeneration with calcium carbonate
Marco A. Lopez-Heredia,Agata Łapa,Ana Carina Loureiro Mendes,Lieve Balcaen,Sangram Keshari Samal,Feng Chai,P. Van Der Voort,Christian V. Stevens,Bogdan Parakhonskiy,Ioannis S. Chronakis,Frank Vanhaecke,Nicolas Blanchemain,Elżbieta Pamuła,Andre G. Skirtach,Timothy E.L. Douglas +14 more
TL;DR: Hydrogels of Gellan Gum, a biocompatible polysaccharide, were mineralized biomimetically with CaCO 3 using a double enzymatic approach to promote proliferation and spreading of osteoblast-like cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nanoscale antiadhesion properties of sophorolipid-coated surfaces against pathogenic bacteria
Claire Valotteau,Niki Baccile,Vincent Humblot,Sophie Roelants,Sophie Roelants,Wim Soetaert,Christian V. Stevens,Yves F. Dufrêne +7 more
TL;DR: By means of single-cell force nanoscopy, sophorolipid biosurfactants feature unusually strong antiadhesion properties against nosocomial pathogens involved in catheter-related infections.
Journal ArticleDOI
Discovery of (S)-3'-hydroxyblebbistatin and (S)-3'-aminoblebbistatin: polar myosin II inhibitors with superior research tool properties.
Sigrid Verhasselt,Bart Roman,Olivier De Wever,Kristof Van Hecke,Rik Van Deun,Marc Bracke,Christian V. Stevens +6 more
TL;DR: Two enantiomers of a series of D-ring modified polar analogs are identified as two myosin II inhibitors with a 30-fold higher water solubility than (S)-blebbistatin, and these molecules furthermore do not cause interference in (fluorescence) readouts.
