Christopher G. Goetz,Werner Poewe,Olivier Rascol,Cristina Sampaio,Glenn T. Stebbins,Carl Counsell,Nir Giladi,Robert G. Holloway,Charity G. Moore,Gregor K. Wenning,Melvin D. Yahr,Lisa Seidl +11 more
TL;DR: The Movement Disorder Society Task Force for Rating Scales for Parkinson's disease (PD) prepared a critique of the Hoehn and Yahr scale, which recommends that it be used in its original form for demographic presentation of patient groups and in research settings, the HY scale is useful primarily for defining inclusion/exclusion criteria.

TL;DR: The MDS‐UPDRS retains the UPDRS structure of four parts with a total summed score, but the parts have been modified to provide a section that integrates nonmotor elements of PD: I, Nonmotor Experiences of Daily Living; II, Motor Exper experiences of daily Living; III, Motor Examination; and IV, Motor Complications.

TL;DR: The objective of this work was to update previous EBM reviews on treatments for PD with a focus on non‐motor symptoms and found that most of the other interventions there is insufficient evidence to make adequate conclusions on their efficacy.

Nadine Attal,Giorgio Cruccu,Maija Haanpää,Per Hansson,Troels S. Jensen,Turo Nurmikko,Cristina Sampaio,Søren H. Sindrup,Philip J Wiffen +8 more
TL;DR: Evaluated trials provide level A evidence for the efficacy of tricyclic antidepressants, gabapentin, pregabalin and opioids, with a large number of class I trials, followed by topical lidocaine and the newer antidepressants venlafaxine and duloxetine.
