TL;DR: This whole-genome sequence analysis of Salmonella enterica serovar Typhi identifies a single dominant MDR lineage, H58, that has emerged and spread throughout Asia and Africa over the last 30 years, and identifies numerous transmissions of H58.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transcriptome variation in human tissues revealed by long-read sequencing
TL;DR: In this paper , a large human long-read RNA-seq dataset using the Oxford Nanopore Technologies platform from 88 samples from Genotype-Tissue Expression (GTEx) tissues and cell lines, complementing the GTEx resource was presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: It is shown that the prominent autoimmune and allergic disease risk locus at chromosome 11q13.5 contains a distal enhancer that is functional in CD4+ regulatory T (Treg) cells and required for Treg-mediated suppression of colitis, and GARP is identified as a potential target in their therapy.
Posted ContentDOI
Immune disease variants modulate gene expression in regulatory CD4+ T cells and inform drug targets
Lara Bossini-Castillo,Dafni A. Glinos,Natalia Kunowska,Golda G,Lamikanra A,Lamikanra A,Michaela Spitzer,Blagoje Soskic,Eddie Cano-Gamez,Deborah J. Smyth,Cattermole C,Kaur Alasoo,Kaur Alasoo,Alice L. Mann,Kousik Kundu,Nicole Soranzo,Ian Dunham,David L. Roberts,David L. Roberts,Gosia Trynka +19 more
TL;DR: This study is the first in-depth characterization of immune disease variant effects on Treg gene expression modulation and dysregulation of Treg function and identifies 34 known drug targets and 270 targets with drug tractability evidence.
Journal ArticleDOI
Genomic profiling of T-cell activation suggests increased sensitivity of memory T cells to CD28 costimulation.
Dafni A. Glinos,Blagoje Soskic,Cayman Williams,Alan Kennedy,Luke Jostins,David M. Sansom,Gosia Trynka +6 more
TL;DR: It is observed that human memory T cells are more sensitive to CD28 costimulation than naive T cells, and CD28-sensitive genes are enriched in GWAS regions associated with immune diseases, implicating a role for CD28 in disease development.
