Journal ArticleDOI

Characterization of hepatitis B virus surface antigen variability and impact on HBs antigen clearance under nucleos(t)ide analogue therapy.

TL;DR: Molecular features in patients showingHBsAg persistence on NUCs argue in favour of a different aa pattern in the HBV S gene compared to those showing HBsAg clearance, and in nonresolvers, a decrease in HBs ‘a’ determinant antigenicity and more frequent mutations in the S gene suggest a role for theHBV envelope characteristics in HBSAg persistence.
Journal ArticleDOI

Including Ratio of Platelets to Liver Stiffness Improves Accuracy of Screening for Esophageal Varices That Require Treatment.

TL;DR: The VariScreen algorithm performed well in patients with chronic liver disease of any etiology or severity-it is the only test that safely rules out VNTs and can be used in clinical practice.
