Long-term follow-up of patients with chronic hepatitis c treated with telaprevir in combination with peginterferon alfa-2a and ribavirin: interim analysis of the extend study
S. Zeuzem,Sulkowski,Fabien Zoulim,Ke Sherman,Alfredo Alberti,Lj Wei,B. Van Baelen,James C. Sullivan,Tl Kieffer,S De Meyer,G. Picchio,Frank Tomaka,Cs Graham,Jg Mchutchison +13 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Persistence of viral replication after anti-HBe seroconversion during antiviral therapy for chronic hepatitis B
Christian Pichoud,Françoise Berby,Lieven Stuyver,Marie-Anne Petit,Christian Trepo,Fabien Zoulim +5 more
TL;DR: Persistence of significant levels of viremia that are not detected by the branched DNA assay may be observed after anti-HBe seroconversion, and a precise monitoring of viresmia levels with more sensitive assays and HBV mutant strains is warranted in patients undergoing antiviral therapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Innate Antiviral Immune Responses to Hepatitis B Virus
TL;DR: The innate immune system represents the first line of defense against viral infection, but its role has been difficult to analyze in humans due to late diagnosis of HBV infection.
Journal ArticleDOI
DNA Methylation of Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) Genome Associated with the Development of Hepatocellular Carcinoma and Occult HBV Infection
Pushpinder Kaur,Anupam Paliwal,David Durantel,Pierre Hainaut,Jean-Yves Scoazec,Fabien Zoulim,Isabelle Chemin,Zdenko Herceg +7 more
TL;DR: Analysis of DNA methylation in the HBV genome in liver samples of patients at different stages of hepatocarcinoma development and in in vitro infected hepatocytes found discrete CpG sites in theHBV genome that are recurrently hypermethylated in cancer but not in chronic hepatitis tissue.
Journal ArticleDOI
Direct antiviral properties of TLR ligands against HBV replication in immune-competent hepatocytes.
Julie Lucifora,Marc Bonnin,Ludovic Aillot,Floriane Fusil,Sarah Maadadi,Laura Dimier,Maud Michelet,Oceane Floriot,Anaïs Ollivier,Michel Rivoire,Malika Ait-Goughoulte,Stephane Daffis,Simon P. Fletcher,Anna Salvetti,François-Loïc Cosset,Fabien Zoulim,David Durantel +16 more
TL;DR: The data highlight the potential of innate immunity activation in the direct control of HBV replication in hepatocytes, and support the development of TLR-based antiviral strategies.
