Journal ArticleDOI

Angiotensin Receptor Neprilysin Inhibition Compared With Enalapril on the Risk of Clinical Progression in Surviving Patients With Heart Failure

Milton Packer, +51 more
- 06 Jan 2015 -
TL;DR: Angiotensin-neprilysin inhibition prevents the clinical progression of surviving patients with heart failure more effectively than angiotens in-converting enzyme inhibition.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cardiac myosin activation with omecamtiv mecarbil in systolic heart failure

John R. Teerlink, +50 more
TL;DR: Among patients with heart failure and a reduced ejection, patients who received omecamtiv mecarbil had a lower incidence of a composite of a heart-failure event or death from cardiovascular causes than those who received placebo.
Journal ArticleDOI

Angiotensin II, Transforming Growth Factor-β1and Repair in the Infarcted Heart

TL;DR: Observations suggest locally generated AngII via ATireceptor binding is correlated to TGF-β1expression and synthesis at sites of repair and remote sites in the infarcted rat heart, and the mechanism responsible for the role of AngII in TGF1 remains to be elucidated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fibrosis of atria and great vessels in response to angiotensin II or aldosterone infusion

TL;DR: The appearance of atrial fibrosis and perivascular fibrosis of aorta and pulmonary artery, in rats receiving AngII or ALDO suggests these responses are not related to altered ventricular wall stress or arterial hypertension, but rather to these effector hormones of the circulating renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system.
