Arctic winter 2005: Implications for stratospheric ozone loss and climate change

TL;DR: In this article, the Arctic polar vortex exhibited widespread regions of low temperatures during the winter of 2005, resulting in significant ozone depletion by chlorine and bromine species, and the volume of Arctic vortex air cold enough to support the existence of polar stratospheric clouds.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chemical depletion of Arctic ozone in winter 1999/2000

Markus Rex, +64 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used three fundamentally different approaches to derive the degree of chemical ozone loss from ozonesonde, balloon, aircraft, and satellite instruments and showed that the ozone losses derived from these different instruments and approaches agree very well, resulting in a high level of confidence in the results.
Journal ArticleDOI

Overview of the MOSAiC expedition—Atmosphere

Matthew D. Shupe, +113 more
- 01 Jan 2022 -
TL;DR: The MOSAiC program as mentioned in this paper was organized into four subgroups: atmospheric state, clouds and precipitation, gases and aerosols, and energy budgets, using a variety of approaches, and across multiple scales.
