TL;DR: The entire DNA sequence of chromosome III of the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae has been determined, which is the first complete sequence analysis of an entire chromosome from any organism.
Journal ArticleDOI
Autoregulation may control the expression of yeast pyruvate decarboxylase structural genes PDC1 and PDC5
Stefan Hohmann,Håkan Cederberg +1 more
TL;DR: Deletion of PDC5 did not cause any decrease in the specific pyruvate decarboxylase activity while pdc1 deletion mutants had 80% of the wild-type activity, which indicates that PDC1 and P DC5 are the only structural genes for pyruVateDecarboxyase in yeast.
Journal ArticleDOI
Autoregulation of yeast pyruvate decarboxylase gene expression requires the enzyme but not its catalytic activity
Ines Eberhardt,Ines Eberhardt,Håkan Cederberg,Haijuan Li,Stephan König,Frank Jordan,Stefan Hohmann,Stefan Hohmann,Stefan Hohmann +8 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that autoregulation is triggered by a certain conformation of Pdc1p and that the mutations in pdc1-8 and pDC1-14 may lock PDC1p in vivo in a conformational state which leads to repression of PDC5.
