The case for a directional dark matter detector and the status of current experimental efforts

S. P. Ahlen, +113 more
TL;DR: The case for a dark matter detector with directional sensitivity was presented at the 2009 CYGNUS workshop on directional dark matter detection, and contributions from theorists and experimental groups in the field as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Physics potential of the International Axion Observatory (IAXO)

Eric Armengaud, +95 more
TL;DR: The International Axion Observatory (IAXO) as discussed by the authors has the potential to find the QCD axion in the 1 meV~1 eV mass range where it solves the strong CP problem, can account for the cold dark matter of the Universe and be responsible for the anomalous cooling observed in a number of stellar systems.
Journal ArticleDOI

Search for Solar Axions by the CERN Axion Solar Telescope with 3He Buffer Gas: Closing the Hot Dark Matter Gap

TL;DR: From the absence of excess x rays when the magnet was pointing to the Sun, the CERN Axion Solar Telescope set a typical upper limit on the axion-photon coupling of gaγ, with the exact value depending on the pressure setting.
