Acute Saline Infusion Reduces Alveolar-Capillary Membrane Conductance and Increases Airflow Obstruction in Patients With Left Ventricular Dysfunction

TL;DR: Acute intravascular volume expansion impairs alveolar-capillary membrane function and increases airflow obstruction in patients with LVD but not in normal subjects, suggesting that the abnormalities of pulmonary diffusion in heart failure also have a variable component that could be amenable to therapeutic intervention.

TL;DR: Following this review of evidence and after due consideration, it is clear that there are few cardiovascular conditions that warrant the denial of fitness to fly as a passenger.
