Tuberculosis and impaired IL-23–dependent IFN-γ immunity in humans homozygous for a common TYK2 missense variant

Stéphanie Boisson-Dupuis, +94 more
- 21 Dec 2018 -
TL;DR: Homozygosity for the catalytically inactive P1104A missense variant of the TYK2 Janus kinase selectively disrupts the induction of IFN-γ by IL-23 and is a common monogenic etiology of tuberculosis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cellular Renewal and Improvement of Local Cell Effector Activity in Peritoneal Cavity in Response to Infectious Stimuli

TL;DR: The data provide a first demonstration of the consequences of the dynamics between peritoneal MØ subpopulations by showing that substitution of LPM by a robust SPM and monocytes in response to infectious stimuli greatly improves PerC effector activity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Deficiency of the human complement regulatory protein factor H associated with low levels of component C9.

TL;DR: A 4‐year‐old Brazilian boy from a family of Japanese descent and history of consanguinity, who suffered from severe recurrent pneumonia, carries factor H (FH) deficiency associated with reduced levels of component C9 and low serum levels of C3 and factor B.
