Solar abundance ratios of the iron-peak elements in the Perseus cluster

Felix Aharonian, +207 more
- 23 Nov 2017 -
TL;DR: In this paper, X-ray spectroscopy of the intracluster medium provides an opportunity to investigate the nature of supernova explosions integrated over cosmic time, in particular the abundance of the iron-peak elements (chromium, manganese, iron and nickel) is key to understanding how the progenitors of typical type Ia supernovae evolve and explode.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chandra Observations of High-Mass Young Stellar Objects in the Monoceros R2 Molecular Cloud

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors observed the Monoceros R2 molecular cloud with the ACIS-I array on board the Chandra X-Ray Observatory and detected 154 sources above the detection limit of 5 × 10-16 ergs s -1 cm -2 with a 100 ks exposure.
Journal ArticleDOI

Large X-Ray Flare from the Herbig Be Star MWC 297

TL;DR: Hard X-ray emissions from the Herbig Be star MWC 297 were discovered in three separate observations spanning 5 days in 1994 April with the Advanced Satellite for Cosmology and Astrophysics (ASCA) as mentioned in this paper.
