Variants in CPA1 are strongly associated with early onset chronic pancreatitis

Heiko Witt, +70 more
- 01 Oct 2013 -
TL;DR: The mechanism by which CPA1 variants confer increased pancreatitis risk may involve misfolding-induced endoplasmic reticulum stress rather than elevated trypsin activity, as is seen with other genetic risk factors for this disease.
Journal ArticleDOI

Excited-State Dynamics of trans- and cis-Azobenzene after UV Excitation in the ππ* Band

TL;DR: In this article, transient absorption measurements on cis-and trans-azobenzene after UV excitation in the ππ* band are presented and compared to data obtained after VIS excitation, where the data show a two-step process, where after a fast motion on the S2 potential energy surface the molecule relaxes to the S1 state.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ultrafast Charge Separation at the CdSe/CdS Core/Shell Quantum Dot/Methylviologen Interface: Implications for Nanocrystal Solar Cells

TL;DR: In this paper, the electron separation dynamics in the electron transfer system containing highly photostable CdSe/CdS core/shell nanocrystal quantum dots and adsorbed methylviologen was investigated by means of femtosecond absorption spectroscopy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ultrafast Dynamics of a Spiropyran in Water

TL;DR: The investigations reveal that the photochemical conversion from the closed spiropyran to the open merocyanine takes 1.6 ps whereas the reversed photoreaction is accomplished within 25 ps.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ligand exchange of CdSe nanocrystals probed by optical spectroscopy in the visible and mid-IR

TL;DR: In this paper, a quantitative analysis of ligand exchange in CdSe semiconductor nanocrystals was performed using optical spectroscopy in the UV/VIS and mid-IR spectral range.
