MicroRNA-874 targets phosphomevalonate kinase and inhibits cancer cell growth via the mevalonate pathway
Alimasi Aersilan,Naoko Hashimoto,Kazuyuki Yamagata,Masataka Yokoyama,Akitoshi Nakayama,Xiaofang Shi,Hidekazu Nagano,Ikki Sakuma,Nijiro Nohata,Takashi Kinoshita,Naohiko Seki,Bahityar Rahmutulla,Atsushi Kaneda,Siti Nurul Zhahara,Yingbo Gong,Motoi Nishimura,Shoichiro Kawauchi,Eiryo Kawakami,Tomoaki Tanaka +18 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors showed that miR-874-induced apoptosis was p53 dependent, and single-cell RNA sequencing analysis demonstrated that miRNA transfection resulted in apoptosis and p53 pathway activation, which was rescued by geranylgeranyl pyrophosphate (GGPP) supplementation.
Book ChapterDOI
DNA Methylation and Dysregulation of miRNA in Cancer
TL;DR: Dysregulated expression of miRNAs can disrupt tightly regulated RNA networks in cancer cells, and their dysregulation has been observed in several human diseases, including cancers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mp36-08 microrna-144-5p functions as tumour suppressor through targeting cyclin e1 and cyclin e2 that are potential prognostic markers in bladder cancer
Ryosuke Matsushita,Naohiko Seki,Takeshi Chiyomaru,Satoru Inoguchi,Tomoaki Ishihara,Toshihiko Itesako,Shuichi Tatarano,Hirofumi Yoshino,Yusuke Goto,Rika Nishikawa,Hideki Enokida,Masayuki Nakagawa +11 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Inhibition of Cell Growth by Nuclear Receptor COUP-TFI: Possible Involvementof Decorin in Growth Inhibition
Shinji Morii,Masaki Kato,Naohiko Seki,Natsuko Shinmen,Katsuro Iwase,Masaki Takiguchi,Takaki Hiwasa +6 more
TL;DR: Flow cytometric analysis showed that progression through mid-S to G2/M phase was delayed in COUP-TFI transfectants, and Luciferase reporter assay revealed that decorin transactivated by COUP -TFI is one of the molecules which account for the growthinhibitory effects of COUPTFI.
Journal ArticleDOI
461 microrna-29 family as tumor suppressive micrornas in renal cell carcinoma: microrna-29a inhibits cell migration and invasion targeting focal adhesion and ecm pathways
Tomokazu Yonezawa,Hideki Enokida,Hirofumi Yoshino,Hideo Hidaka,Takeshi Yamasaki,Toshihiko Itesako,Naohiko Seki,Masayuki Nakagawa +7 more
TL;DR: The data are the first to validate metabolomics as applied to renal cancer and demonstrate significant changes in the transcriptional profile of ccRCC at the levels of glycolysis, gluconeogenesis, and oxidative phosphorylation consistent with a glygolytic phenotype.
