TL;DR: Patients receiving chronic IS were hampered by disease recurrence or complications, impacting long‐term disease‐free survival, and when performed in patients with a low OI score, HSCT resulted in disease resolution with better quality of life, independent of age, donor source, or conditioning regimen.
Journal ArticleDOI
The genomic landscape of juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia.
Elliot Stieglitz,Amaro Taylor-Weiner,Tiffany Y. Chang,Laura C. Gelston,Yong Dong Wang,Tali Mazor,Emilio Esquivel,Ariel Yu,Sara Seepo,Scott R. TL;DR: Genomically characterize serial samples from patients at diagnosis through relapse and transformation to acute myeloid leukemia to expand knowledge of the mutational spectrum in JMML and identified recurrent mutations in genes involved in signal transduction, splicing, Polycomb repressive complex 2 (PRC2) and transcription.
Journal ArticleDOI
TERC and TERT gene mutations in patients with bone marrow failure and the significance of telomere length measurements
Hong Yan Du,Elena Pumbo,Jennifer Ivanovich,Ping An,Richard T. Maziarz,Ulrike M. Reiss,Deborah Chirnomas,Akiko Shimamura,Adrianna Vlachos,Jeffrey M. Lipton,Rakesh K. Goyal,Frederick D. Goldman,David B. Wilson,Philip J. Mason,Monica Bessler +14 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that in the setting of BMF, measurement of telomere length is a sensitive but nonspecific screening method for DC and in the absence of BMf, telomeres length measurements should be interpreted with caution.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ajuba, a novel lim protein, interacts with grb2, augments mitogen-activated protein kinase activity in fibroblasts, and promotes meiotic maturation of xenopus oocytes in a grb2- and ras-dependent manner
Rakesh K. Goyal,Phoebe Lin,Josna Kanungo,Aimee S. Payne,Anthony J. Muslin,Gregory D. Longmore +5 more
TL;DR: A new LIM protein is identified and characterized, Ajuba, which was predominantly a cytosolic protein, in contrast to other like proteins, it did not localize to sites of cellular adhesion to extracellular matrix or interact with the actin cytoskeleton.
Journal ArticleDOI
The addition of sirolimus to tacrolimus/methotrexate GVHD prophylaxis in children with ALL: a phase 3 Children's Oncology Group/Pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplant Consortium trial.
Michael A. Pulsipher,Bryan Langholz,Donna A. Wall,Kirk R. Schultz,Nancy Bunin,William L. Carroll,Elizabeth A. Raetz,Sharon Gardner,Julie M. Gastier-Foster,Denise L. Howrie,Rakesh K. Goyal,James G. Douglas,Michael J. Borowitz,Y. Barnes,David T. Teachey,Candace Taylor,Stephan A. Grupp +16 more
TL;DR: Although addition of sirolimus decreased aGVHD, survival was not improved, and multivariate analysis showed increased relapse risk in children with ≥0.1% minimal residual disease (MRD) pretransplant, and decreased risk in patients with grades 1-3 aGV HD (P = .04).
