Journal ArticleDOI

Enhanced levels of platelet P-selectin and circulating cytokines in young patients with mild arterial hypertension.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that in an early stage of AH, inflammatory pathways are already activated and platelets seem to play a significant role in mediating inflammation in AH, which could lead to target organ injury.
Journal ArticleDOI

Candesartan improves blood pressure control and reduces proteinuria in renal transplant recipients: results from SECRET

TL;DR: Insight is provided into the design and conduct of studies in this area and evidence for the utility of candesartan, which showed good safety and tolerability, improved BP control and decreased proteinuria in renal transplant recipients.
Journal ArticleDOI

Potential mechanisms of impaired endothelial function in arterial hypertension and hypercholesterolemia.

TL;DR: The overall conclusion is that the bioavailability of nitric oxide is probably impaired, not by a single defect, but by various mechanisms affecting nitric dioxide synthesis as well as nitricoxide breakdown.
Journal ArticleDOI

Six-Month Results of Treatment-Blinded Medication Titration for Hypertension Control After Randomization to Endovascular Ultrasound Renal Denervation or a Sham Procedure in the RADIANCE-HTN SOLO Trial

Michel Azizi, +129 more
- 28 May 2019 -
TL;DR: The BP lowering effect of endovascular ultrasound RDN was maintained at 6 months with less prescribed antihypertensive medications compared with a sham control, and safety was maintained.
