Functional gene screening system identified TRPV4 as a regulator of chondrogenic differentiation.
Shuji Muramatsu,Makoto Wakabayashi,Takeshi Ohno,Katsuhiko Amano,Rika Ooishi,Toshinori Sugahara,Satoshi Shiojiri,Kosuke Tashiro,Yutaka Suzuki,Riko Nishimura,Satoru Kuhara,Sumio Sugano,Toshiyuki Yoneda,Akio Matsuda +13 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that TRPV4 regulates the SOX9 pathway and contributes to the process of chondrogenesis.
Journal Article
Inhibition of Angiogenesis and Vascular Leakiness by Angiopoietin-Related Protein 4
Yasuhiro Ito,Yuichi Oike,Kunio Yasunaga,Koichi Hamada,Keishi Miyata,Shun Ichiro Matsumoto,Sumio Sugano,Hidenobu Tanihara,Yasuhiko Masuho,Toshio Suda +9 more
TL;DR: It is found that both vascular endothelial growth factor-induced in vivo angiogenesis and vascular leakiness were significantly inhibited by the addition of ARP4, indicating a potential therapeutic effect of ARp4 in neoplastic diseases.
Journal ArticleDOI
DBTSS: DataBase of Transcriptional Start Sites progress report in 2012
TL;DR: To support transcriptional regulation studies, the new DBTSS (DataBase of Transcriptional Start Sites), which contains exact positions of transcriptional start sites (TSSs), determined with the authors' own technique named TSS-seq, in the genomes of various species is constructed.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: The genome sequence of the tammar wallaby, Macropus eugenii, is presented, which is a member of the kangaroo family and the first representative of the iconic hopping mammals that symbolize Australia to be sequenced, to provide new insight into marsupial and mammalian biology and genome evolution.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ezh2 augments leukemogenicity by reinforcing differentiation blockage in acute myeloid leukemia
Satomi Tanaka,Satoru Miyagi,Goro Sashida,Tetsuhiro Chiba,Jin Yuan,Makiko Mochizuki-Kashio,Yutaka Suzuki,Sumio Sugano,Chiaki Nakaseko,Koutaro Yokote,Haruhiko Koseki,Atsushi Iwama +11 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that Ezh2 inhibits differentiation programs in leukemic stem cells, thereby augmenting their leukemogenic activity.
