Journal ArticleDOI
Robust neutralization assay based on SARS-CoV-2 S-protein-bearing vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV) pseudovirus and ACE2-overexpressing BHK21 cells.
Hualong Xiong,Yangtao Wu,Jiali Cao,Ren Yang,Yingxia Liu,Jian Ma,Xiao-Yang Qiao,Xiang-Yang Yao,Bao-Hui Zhang,Yali Zhang,Wangheng Hou,Yang Shi,Jingjing Xu,Liang Zhang,Shaojuan Wang,Baorong Fu,Ting Yang,Shengxiang Ge,Jun Zhang,Quan Yuan,Baoying Huang,Zhiyong Li,Tianying Zhang,Ningshao Xia +23 more
TL;DR: In this study, a G protein-deficient vesicular stomatitis virus (VSVdG) bearing a truncated spike protein was compared to that bearing the full-length spike protein of SARS-CoV-2 and showed much higher efficiency and could facilitate the development of new drugs and vaccines.

Serology characteristics of SARS-CoV-2 infection since the exposure and post symptoms onset
Bin Lou,Tigndong Li,Shufa Zheng,Yingying Su,Zhiyong Li,Wei Liu,Fei Yu,Shengxiang Ge,Qianda Zou,Quan Yuan,Sha Lin,Congming Hong,Xiangyang Yao,Xuejie Zhang,Dinghui Wu,Guoliang Zhou,Wangheng Hou,Tingting Li,Yali Zhang,Shiyin Zhang,Jian Fan,Jun Zhang,Ningshao Xia,Yu Chen +23 more
TL;DR: Typical acute antibody response is induced during the SARS-CoV-2 infection and the serology testing provides important complementation to RNA test for pathogenic specific diagnosis and helpful information to evaluate the adapted immunity status of patient.
Journal ArticleDOI
Molecular cloning and characterization of the genes encoding the proteins of Zika virus.
Wangheng Hou,Ruth Cruz-Cosme,Najealicka Armstrong,Lilian Akello Obwolo,Fayuan Wen,Wenhui Hu,Min-Hua Luo,Qiyi Tang +7 more
TL;DR: The chemical features, suborganelle distribution and potential function of each protein using Flag-tagged protein expression system suggest that ZIKV generates 10 functional viral proteins that exhibit distinctive subcellular distribution in host cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
Atomic structures of Coxsackievirus A6 and its complex with a neutralizing antibody.
Longfa Xu,Qingbing Zheng,Shaowei Li,Maozhou He,Yangtao Wu,Yongchao Li,Rui Zhu,Hai Yu,Qiyang Hong,Jie Jiang,Zizhen Li,Shuxuan Li,Huan Zhao,Lisheng Yang,Wangheng Hou,Wei Wang,Xiangzhong Ye,Jun Zhang,Timothy S. Baker,Tong Cheng,Z. Hong Zhou,Z. Hong Zhou,Xiaodong Yan,Xiaodong Yan,Ningshao Xia +24 more
TL;DR: The isolation of two forms of stable CVA6 particles-procapsid and A-particle-with excellent biochemical stability and natural antigenicity to serve as vaccine candidates are demonstrated and an immune-dominant neutralizing epitope is identified which can be exploited for vaccine development.
Journal ArticleDOI
HBV infection-induced liver cirrhosis development in dual-humanised mice with human bone mesenchymal stem cell transplantation
Lunzhi Yuan,Jing Jiang,Xuan Liu,Yali Zhang,Liang Zhang,Jiaojiao Xin,Kun Wu,Xiaoling Li,Jiali Cao,Guo Xueran,Dongyan Shi,Jun Li,Longyan Jiang,Suwan Sun,Tengyun Wang,Wangheng Hou,Tianying Zhang,Hua Zhu,Jun Zhang,Quan Yuan,Tong Cheng,Ningshao Xia +21 more
TL;DR: This new humanised mouse model recapitulates the liver cirrhosis induced by human HBV infection, thus providing research opportunities for understanding viral immune pathophysiology and testing antiviral therapies in vivo.
