TL;DR: In this paper, a study aimed to explore the perceptions of wrestlers on the Turkish national wrestling team by analyzing their metaphors for wrestling, and the analysis and interpretation of data is carried out in five stages: (1) Specifying the metaphors, (2) Classifying the metaphor, (3) Developing the categories, (4) Ensuring validity and reliability, (5) Entering data into SPSS program for quantitative data analysis.
Abstract: This study aimed to explore the perceptions of wrestlers on the Turkish national wrestling team by analyzing their metaphors for wrestling. 107 athletes voluntarily participated in this study in 2013. Data were collected by asking the volunteers to fill in the blanks of the following sentence: “Wrestling is like … since …” In this way, it was expected that each participant would come up with a metaphor. For this study, the phenomenology research design was used and the data were analyzed using the content analysis technique. Within this scope, the analysis and interpretation of data is carried out in five stages: (1) Specifying the metaphors (2) Classifying the metaphors (3) Developing the categories (4) Ensuring validity and reliability (5) Entering data into SPSS program for the quantitative data analysis. According to the findings of the research, the participants generated 59 valid metaphors for wrestling. 10 different categories were developed by examining common characteristics of the metaph...

02 Nov 2017TL;DR: The short-term power loads of two houses were used and results showed lower error rates were obtained by using less number of features, and by using selected features the required memory, equipment and communication costs are also decreased in real time applications.
Abstract: Estimating short-term power load is a fundamental issue in the power distribution system. Since short-term power load is related to many parameters such as weather conditions, and time. The aim of this study is to determine the relevant parameters in estimating short-term power load not only in order to decrease the computational cost, but also to achieve higher success rates. Furthermore, by using selected features the required memory, equipment and communication costs are also decreased in real time applications. Feature selection by extreme learning machine method was used in determining relevant features. The short-term power loads of two houses (one of them has a power generation capability) were used in tests and achieved results showed lower error rates were obtained by using less number of features.
