TL;DR: In a generic synthesis approach, all three CsPbX3 (X=Cl, Br and I) perovskite nanocrystals having near unity quantum yields is reported.
Abstract: In a generic synthesis approach, all three CsPbX3 (X=Cl, Br and I) perovskite nanocrystals having near unity quantum yields is reported. This has been achieved by injecting the desired amount of preformed alkylammonium halide salts which acted as a dual source providing halide ions and the capping agent to an equimolar amount of non-halide Pb and Cs precursors in a reaction flask at an optimized reaction temperature. The composition sensitivity of Pb to Cs ratio, high temperature reaction, and injection of ammonium halide remained the key parameters for obtaining the high quantum yields. Details of the reaction process, use of different reagents and setting up the reaction parameters are reported.

TL;DR: In this article, a core/shell nanorod arrays of ZnO/CdS with varying shell thickness and their shell thickness dependent photocatalytic properties have been investigated.
Abstract: Core/shell nanorod arrays of ZnO/CdS have been synthesized with varying shell thickness and their shell thickness dependent photocatalytic properties have been investigated. Core/shell nanorod arrays of core diameter of 100 nm with variable shell thickness (10–30 nm) are synthesized by varying the concentration of the citric acid. XRD analysis reveals that tensile strain is obtained for ZnO nanorods and the compressive strain is obtained for core/shell nanorods. The UV–visible absorption spectra of the core/shell nanorod arrays show a red shift of the band edge of uncoated ZnO with shell growth. Steady-state photoluminescence (PL) spectra of the core/shell nanorod arrays show red shift of emission band with the increase in shell thickness. Decay kinetics indicate that the average lifetime (⟨τ⟩) of the core/shell nanorod arrays is larger than that of the uncoated ZnO nanorods due to charge separation. I–V studies show a 16-fold enhancement in current using the ZnO/CdS core/shell nanorod arrays having CdS s...

TL;DR: Graphene-based hybrid nanostructures have recently emerged as a new class of functional materials for light-energy conversion and storage and can provide a valuable opportunity to explore novel hybrid materials with superior visible-light-induced catalytic activity.
Abstract: Graphene-based hybrid nanostructures have recently emerged as a new class of functional materials for light-energy conversion and storage. Here, we have synthesized reduced graphene oxide (RGO)–semiconductor composites to improve the efficiency of photocatalysis. Zero-dimensional CdS nanoparticles (0D), one-dimensional CdS nanorods (1D), and two-dimensional CdS nanosheets (2D) are grafted on the RGO sheet (2D) by a surface modification method using 4-aminothiophenol (4-ATP). Structural analysis confirms the attachment of CdS nanocrystals with RGO, and the strong electronic interaction is found in the case of a CdS nanosheet and RGO, which has an influence on photocatalytic properties. The degradation of dye under visible light varies with changing the dimension of nanocrystals, and the catalytic activity of the CdS NS/RGO composite is ∼4 times higher than that of CdS nanoparticle/RGO and 3.4 times higher than that of CdS nanorod/RGO composite samples. The catalytic activity of the CdS nanosheet/RGO compos...
