Abstract: The measurement of R
D
(R
D*), the ratio of the branching fraction of $$ \overline{B}\to D\tau {\overline{
u}}_{\tau}\left(\overline{B}\to {D}^{\ast}\tau {\overline{
u}}_{\tau}\right) $$
to that of $$ \overline{B}\to Dl{\overline{
u}}_l\left(\overline{B}\to {D}^{\ast }l{\overline{
u}}_l\right) $$
, shows 1.9σ (3.3σ) deviation from its Standard Model (SM) prediction. The combined deviation is at the level of 4σ according to the Heavy Flavour Averaging Group (HFAG). In this paper, we perform an effective field theory analysis (at the dimension 6 level) of these potential New Physics (NP) signals assuming SU(3)C × SU(2)L × U(1)Y gauge invariance. We first show that, in general, R
D
and R
D* are theoretically independent observables and hence, their theoretical predictions are not correlated. We identify the operators that can explain the experimental measurements of R
D
and R
D* individually and also together. Motivated by the recent measurement of the τ polarisation in $$ \overline{B}\to {D}^{\ast}\tau {\overline{
u}}_{\tau } $$
decay, P
τ
(D
*) by the Belle collaboration, we study the impact of a more precise measurement of P
τ
(D
*) (and a measurement of P
τ
(D)) on the various possible NP explanations. Furthermore, we show that the measurement of R
D* in bins of q
2, the square of the invariant mass of the lepton-neutrino system, along with the information on τ polarisation and the forward-backward asymmetry of the τ lepton, can completely distinguish the various operator structures. We also provide the full expressions of the double differential decay widths for the individual τ helicities in the presence of all the 10 dimension-6 operators that can contribute to these decays.

TL;DR: The aggregation behavior of catanionic mixtures of the anionic surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and the cationic Surfactant cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) in solution and at the air/water interface obtained by the Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) technique might find application in the fundamental science of the physical chemistry of surfactants systems, as well as in the preparation of drug
Abstract: Herein, we report the aggregation behavior of catanionic mixtures of the anionic surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and the cationic surfactant cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) in solution and at the air/water interface obtained by the Langmuir–Blodgett (LB) technique. We employed Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, in situ phase-contrast inverted microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and atomic force microscopy to characterize the systems in solution, at the air/water interface, and in LB films. We found spherical vesicles at the SDS/CTAB ratio of 35/65 in aqueous solution and an ordered aggregated morphology called surface micelles at SDS/CTAB ratios of 35/65 to 65/35 at the air/water interface. Other mixtures (SDS/CTAB = 90/10, 10/90) were found to contain mostly disordered aggregated microstructures. An in situ time-dependent study of surface micelle formation at the air/water interface showed micelle ripening through the fusion of smaller micelles. These micelles were successfully ...

TL;DR: In this article, a graphene based composite with silver nanoparticles has been synthesized via a simple chemical route and its catalytic activity has been tested for multi-component reactions and click reaction in a one-pot approach.
Abstract: A graphene based composite with silver nanoparticles has been synthesized via a simple chemical route and its catalytic activity has been tested for multi-component reactions and click reaction in a one-pot approach. This silver–graphene nanocomposite shows excellent catalytic activity at room temperature for three-component couplings between aldehydes, alkynes and amines (A3-coupling) and one-pot synthesis of 1,4-disubstituted 1,2,3-triazole via click reaction between in situ generated azides (derived from anilines or amines) and terminal acetylenes. This solid silver–graphene catalyst has been characterized by TEM, Raman, XRD and UV-Visible absorption spectra. The developed catalyst is air-stable, inexpensive, easy to prepare and can be facilely recovered and reused five times without significant decrease in activity and selectivity.

TL;DR: Two rare examples of azo anion diradical complexes of Rh(III) are reported, showing excellent memory switching properties with a large ON/OFF ratio and are suitable for RAM/ROM applications.
Abstract: Two rare examples of azo anion diradical complexes of Rh(III) are reported. These complexes showed excellent memory switching properties with a large ON/OFF ratio and are suitable for RAM/ROM applications. Their electronic structures have been elucidated using a host of physical methods, including X-ray crystallography, variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility measurement, cyclic voltammetry, electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy, and density functional theory. The results indicate a predominant triplet state description of the systems with two ferromagnetically coupled radicals.
