TL;DR: This paper investigated the application of language learning strategies by different gender of university students and found that students used a wider range of learning strategies and different from those often preferred by their gender, while the lowest frequency strategy use both them were different.
Abstract: This study investigates the application of language learning strategies by different gender of university students. To do so, memory, cognitive, compensation, metacognitive, affective, and social language learning strategies were investigated. To collect data, the Strategy Inventory for Language Learning (SILL; Oxford, 1990) was administered to male and female student. They, then, were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The findings of the study indicated that students used a wider range of learning strategies and different from those often preferred by their gender. Both female and male often use social strategies while the lowest frequency strategy use both them were different. The results of this study can be useful for language teachers instead of raising their awareness on reducing the gap between the students' language learning strategies and their teaching technique preferences.

TL;DR: In this paper, the differences between men and women's language feature and the consistency of the using of that language features by each gender were investigated using qualitative method from Mack et al. The technique of data analysis is descriptive method.
Abstract: This research with the title investigated the differences between men and women’s language feature and the consistency of the using of that language features by each gender. This research used the theory from Coates (2004) about men’s language features and Lakoff, quoted by Holmes (2003) about women’s language. The researcher got the data from every dialogue by main and supporting characters. The research design in this research used qualitative method from Mack et al (2005). The data source of this research got from the dialogue of men and women’s characters and the researcher also used books and journals which are related to this research to analyze the data. The technique of data analysis is descriptive method. The researcher draws two conclusions: firstly, this research found that men and women’s character in The Devil Wears Prada movie did not use all of the language features from Coates and Lakoff. Secondly, the researcher found that in some situation, the men and women’s character did not consistent use their own language features. Keywords: features consistency, men’s language, women’s language, The Devil Wears Prada movie ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti tentang perbedaan antara bahasa pria dan bahasa wanita dan konsistensi pengunaan tersebut pada masing-masing jenis kelamin. Kata kunci: konsistensi karakter, bahasa pria, bahasa wanita, film The Devil Wears Prada

TL;DR: In this paper, a real-time network of freshwater dolphin's observatories in Asian waters using passive acoustic monitoring system between Japanese team, Indian team and Indonesian team has been started since April 2010.
Abstract: Aiming to develop a strategy for the conservation of freshwater dolphins inhabiting Asian areas, a new international collaborating project for real time networking of freshwater dolphin's observatories in Asian waters using passive acoustic monitoring system between Japanese team, Indian team and Indonesian team has been started since April 2010. The project networks the data from the observatories that consist of the existing observatories for the Ganges river dolphins in Narora (India), the Irrawaddy dolphins in Chilika lake (India) and a newly developed observatory for the Irrawaddy dolphins in Mahakam river (Indonesia). The systems are designed by the following common concept: dolphin's 3-D location data and their habitat environment data such as water quality are transferred through the host server anywhere in the world by internet and monitored by a PC with appropriate viewer program. In addition, the database for recorded data from three observatories has been created for data sharing and further analysis. The initial experiments in Borneo were made from 17–22 December 2011 and the recorded data was uploaded to the database.

TL;DR: The aphrodisiac activity of CSS ethanol extracts is directly through the vasodilation action mechanism on blood vessels in the rat corpus cavernosum through which it induces vasodilatory response on rat Corpus cavernsum blood vessels.
Abstract: Cratoxylum sumatranum (Jack) Blume of the Hypericaceae family is known as “Bentaleng” by Dayak Benuaq. In ethnobotany, Cratoxylum sumatranum stems (CSS) is used as energy drink or aphrodisiac, but its effect has not been scientifically proven. Research objective to study the aphrodisiac activity of CSS extract by screening the aphrodisiac activity in vitro. Method: CSS was collected from Kutai Kertanegara Regency, East Kalimantan Province. Extraction was by maceration with ethanol solvent for three days. Re-maceration was done twice. In vitro screening of aphrodisiac activity used isolated rat corpus cavernosum. The organ was placed into a 10 mL chamber containing Krebs-Henselheit solution at pH 7.4, 37°C and aerated with carbogen gas. After acclimation, a contraction test was performed with phenylephrine solution and after reaching the peak of contraction at plateau the Control (solvent extract) or CSS ethanol extract was administerd at cumulatively increased concentration. Vasodilation activity was known if the contraction response was decreased after the extract’s administration and expressed in percent contraction with negative value. Results: CSS ethanol extract induce vasodilatory response on rat Corpus cavernosum blood vessels. Vasodilation activity is increasing with increasing concentration of extract given compared to Control. Conclusion the aphrodisiac activity of CSS ethanol extracts is directly through the vasodilation action mechanism on blood vessels in the rat corpus cavernosum.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reveal the knowledge of how 5-6 year old preschoolers wash their hands with soap by employing Team Games Tournament Smart Cards method in TKIT of Baitul Izzah Bengkulu.
Abstract: This research aims to reveal the knowledge of how 5-6 year old preschoolers wash their hands with soap by employing Team Games Tournament Smart Cards method in TKIT of Baitul Izzah Bengkulu. This research uses pre-experimental method with 33 preschoolers as the sample. The instrument used is a questionnaire and the data analysis utilizes T-test as the alternative test with 5% margin of error. The result of T-test from the handwashing knowledge with soap, before and after being given the Team Games Tournament Smart Card method is p value < 0,043. The knowledge after being given the Team Games Tournament Smart Card method is 10,02. Therefore, it is concluded that the Team Games Tournament Smart Card method is proven effective in delivering knowledge about handwashing with soap among 56yearold preschoolers in TKIT of BaitulIzzah Bengkulu. It is expected that the Team Games Tournament Smart Card method can be an alternative in teaching the appropriate knowledge for preschoolers based on their age characteristics.
