TL;DR: G Gardner syndrome is characterized by typical syndrome including family adenomatous polyposis and extra-intestinal tissue tumor, and it is suggested that when a patient with Gardner syndrome desire to conceive again, they should go to the hospital for a regular review at least once every 3 months.
Abstract: Gardner syndrome is a subtype of familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP), characterized by a combination of adenomatous intestinal polyps and extracolonic lesions such as multiple osteomas, dental abnormalities, and soft tissue tumors. Although 12% of patients with intestinal polyposis of FAP may occur intra-abdominal desmoid tumors, pregnancy complicating with giant abdominal desmoid tumors is a relatively rare case. A 28-year-old pregnant woman was diagnosed with Gardner syndrome in whom an intra-abdominal tumor was found a year after undergoing a laparoscopic total colectomy due to family adenomatous polyposis. At 32 weeks’ gestation, she presented to our department for the third time complaining upper abdominal pain caused by the giant abdominal mass about 21 × 12 cm2 in size. After multidisciplinary consultation and discussion, the decision of fetal preservation treatment was made. After the delivery of a baby girl, abdominal mass resection was performed, and pathological examination revealed a fibrous adenoma. The patient was discharged after a week and was uneventful in the follow-up for half a year. Gardner syndrome is characterized by typical syndrome including family adenomatous polyposis and extra-intestinal tissue tumor. Were desmoid tumors rarely as large as fetus and local aggressively. In our case, we selected surgery to remove the intra-abdominal desmoid tumor after the natural delivery of the fetus and no abnormalities were observed during the 6 months follow-up. Women during pregnancy have an increased risk for the development of desmoid tumors, likely with the sex hormone to be one of the triggers. Therefore, we suggested that when a patient with Gardner syndrome desire to conceive again, they should go to the hospital for a regular review at least once every 3 months.

TL;DR: Reports the detection of melanoma in a very young child aged 18 months, which clinically appeared to be a retinoblastoma, which is a disease mainly of the white population in older age groups and rare in Asians and other pigmented races.
Abstract: Malignant ocular and adnexal tumours are rare presentations in most communities. Intraocular tumours, most commonly arising from the ciliary body, are often diagnosed late because of their conceale...

TL;DR: In this article, the wear analysis of Mg-B4C composites was examined in disparate loads of 30, 60, and 90 N with a constant sliding velocity of 2m/s and in 2000m constant sliding distance.
Abstract: The pure Mg and Mg-B4C composites are produced with dissimilar weight percentages (Mg-5% B4C, Mg-10% B4C, and Mg-15% B4C) using powder metallurgy methods. To find the consequences of B4C in pure Mg, the Vickers micro-hardness, dry sliding wear, 3D roughness profile, and immersion corrosion tests were conducted. To quantify the texture of the composite surface, the local binary co-occurrence pattern quantification technique was used in this analysis and the related texture features were extracted to evaluate the composite surfaces. The wear analysis of Mg-B4C composites was examined in disparate loads of 30, 60, and 90 N with a constant sliding velocity of 2 m/s and in 2000 m constant sliding distance. The changes in wear rate, wear depth, and friction coefficient were compiled and analyzed. It was identified that the wear rate increased with the increment of load. To comprehend the wear mechanism of pure Mg and all Mg-B4C (5–15%) composites, its worn surfaces were subjected to SEM and EDS mapping analyses. The surface roughness of the worn surfaces was explored using a 3D roughness profile test and atomic force microscopy analysis. The obtained results exhibited that the hardness of Mg-B4C composites increased with increasing of B4C weight percentages. The rate of corrosion was discovered using the weight loss method. The corrosion rate decreased to a great extent with the increasing weight percentage of B4C in the Mg matrix.

TL;DR: There is an increased risk of diabetes mellitus in patients with acrochordons and with regard to the importance of early diagnosis of diabetes, it is recommended a high level of suspicion for diabetes mell Titus in patientswith acroChordons.
Abstract: Background: Acrochordons (Skin tags) are common benign skin tumors usually occurring on the neck and major flexors of older people. These range in size from 1 mm to 1cm in diameter and are skin colored or brownish. A possible association with diabetes mellitus has been suggested in previous studies, but the result is not conclusive. Objectives: The aim of this study was to find out the association of diabetes mellitus with acrochordons. Material and Methods: One hundred and two patients were selected for the study. Among them 51 (males-23 and females-28) with acrochordons were taken as cases and 51 with other dermatologic disease after matching age and sex were taken as controls. The patients were selected from OPD of Department of Dermatology and Venereology in Universal College of Medical Sciences - Teaching Hospital (UCMS-TH). Blood glucose level including both fasting plasma glucose and 2-hour post-glucose load were determined for both case and control and compared. Results: Patients with acrochordons had significantly higher frequency of diabetes than the control group (p<0.001). Total of 48.5% and 40% of patients with acrochordons having diabetes were obese and overweight respectively. Conclusion: There is an increased risk of diabetes mellitus in patients with acrochordons. With regard to the importance of early diagnosis of diabetes, it is recommended a high level of suspicion for diabetes mellitus in patients with acrochordons. NJDVL Vol. 13, No. 1, 2015 Page: 32-37
