Abstract: The study was carried out to optimize the phenotypic method to characterize the sickle cell trait (SCT), sickle cell anemia (SCA), and β-thalassemia (β-TT) suspected sample from tharu community of South Western province-5, Nepal. SCT and SCA were further evaluated by genotypic method employing amplification refractory mutation system (ARMS PCR). Moreover, Glucose 6 phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) was estimated in those hemoglobinopathy to observe its prevalence. The accurate and reliable method can play an important role in reduction of morbidity and mortality rate. The 100 suspected cases were subjected to phenotypic method adopting cellulose acetate electrophoresis and genotypic method using ARMS PCR which portraits (5%) SCA positive test showing HBS/HBS, (38%) SCT positive trait HBA/HBS and (36%) cases normal HBA/HBA. β-TT (21%) cases were confirmed by electropherogram. G6PD deficiency was observed in (40%) of SCA, (18.4%) of SCT, (4.8%) of β-TT and (2.8%) in normal cases. Increased G6PD were developed only in SCT (5.3%) and β-TT (4.8%). The study highlighted sickle cell disorder (SCD) and β-TT as the most common hemoglobinopathy coexisting with G6PD deficiency. Though hemoglobinopathy sometime could be protective in malaria but G6PD deficiency can cause massive hemolysis which may exacerbate the condition.

Abstract: Vehicles were invented to save the time and efforts of humans, but the same vehicles proved to be fatal as count went on increasing. Thus it is mandatory to resolve these issues of accidents caused by vehicles and create a smart system which is user friendly which aims to provide data such as temperature, humidity, directions, journey travelled etc to users, to facilitate communication between two vehicles so as to prevent unusual braking caused by two vehicles in proximity thus preventing accidents. The use of NFC (Near Field Connect) will smartly help the user to follow the laws by default thus creating a robust traffic regulatory system. Also the use of two independent server of regulatory system as well as the user server will maintain the user privacy of the data.

Abstract: Many of the filarial proteases involved in critical physiological functions are expressed in stage-specific manner and belong to various mechanistic classes. Setaria cervi, a bovine filarial parasite express different classes of proteases. This parasite shows strong antigenic cross-reactivity with human filarial parasites Wuchereria bancrofti and Brugia malayi. Somatic extracts of S. cervi microfilariae (mf) and adult stages as well as their excretory-secretory (ES) products were screened for the presence of different classes of proteases using general (casein, bovine hemoglobin) and class specific substrates. Detergent-soluble extracts of male and female worms were also screened. Significant enzyme activity was detected in ES products both at pH 5.0 and 7.0 with casein. Cathepsin B-like activity was found to be much higher in membrane-bound extract than in the crude-soluble extract. However, it was also found to be actively secreted by both mf and adult worms. Cathepsin D-like activity assayed at pH 3.0 was very low both in somatic extract as well as in ES products. Collagenase activity at neutral pH showed higher levels, both in somatic extract and ES products. Cathepsin L-like activity was detected only in crude-soluble extract but was below detectable limit in ES products. Leucine aminopeptidase activity was significant both in crude-soluble extract and ES products. This study, thus, might be helpful for a better understanding of host-parasite interaction and identification of appropriate virulence factors that may be targeted as vaccine and/or drug targets against lymphatic filariasis.

Abstract: Endodontic therapy of mandibular molars is a challenging task due to its varied root canal morphology. A mandibular first molar with additional buccal root (Radix paramolaris) and additional distolingual root (Radix Entomolaris) is an example of its varied anatomy. A successful management of atypical root canal configurations is an important aspect in determining the success rate of root canal therapy. The detail knowledge of the root morphology and canal anatomy allows the clinician for accurate location of the extra roots and canals and accordingly the refinement of the access cavity for the stress free entry of complex anatomy. Hence, for a successful root canal therapy, clinician must be aware of the external and internal anatomic variations .The aim of this clinical case report is to present and describe the unusual presence of two separate mesial roots and six root canals in mandibular first molar, detected during routine endodontic therapy.

Abstract: In RFID based system, the details of the products are displayed on the LCD screen which is attached to the cart/trolley as the products are dropped in to the trolley and at the end of shopping the customers pays the bill shown on the LCD screen and conform their payment. The recommended system goals to switch heavy basket/cart with smartphones. Smartphones come with a prebuilt NFC reader/writer. These readers can read NFC tags. In the shopping centre, each product would have 1 NFC tag that holds whole information about that product. Customer can touch or wave their mobile on NFC tag and add/remove the product to/from the trolley on their mobile. There is no want to carry the trolley/physical cart. At the merchant's end, there would be a system for billing where customer would scan their smartphone and transfer the product particulars for billing. This way the system reduces the physical task by customer load effectively. The Range of NFC is 4–10 cm (compared to RFID is 1.5 cm), cost of NFC system is inexpensive than RFID, Avg processing time of NFC is 0.98(compared to RFID is 0.99). Both NFC and RFID having similar status scenario (Complete listings of the products, Automatic billing, Update inventory in the central system).
