Abstract
When a meta-analysis on results from experimental studies is conducted, differences in the study design must be taken into consideration. A method for combining results across independent-groups and repeated measures designs is described, and the conditions under which such an analysis is appropriate are discussed. Combining results across designs requires that (a) all effect sizes be transformed into a common metric, (b) effect sizes from each design estimate the same treatment effect, and (c) meta-analysis procedures use design-specific estimates of sampling variance to reflect the precision of the effect size estimates.

Standing balance post total knee arthroplasty: sensitivity to change analysis from four to twelve weeks in 466 patients

TL;DR: Increased high velocity ML sway is present at four compared to 12 weeks post-TKA, which may provide increased challenges to the postural control system at a time coinciding with reduced strength levels, which could have implications for physical function during activities of daily living.

Domain-General Cognitive Ability Predicts Bilingual Children's Receptive Vocabulary in the Majority Language

TL;DR: This paper investigated the influence of cognitive ability on bilingual children's vocabulary development in both their languages and found that cognitive ability predicted receptive vocabulary 1 year later, and attention was more important than working memory.

Americans Still Overestimate Social Class Mobility: A Pre-Registered Self-Replication.

TL;DR: A pre-registered exact replication of Study 3 from this original paper finds that Americans substantially overestimate social class mobility, that people provide greater overestimates when made while thinking of similar others, and that high perceived social class is related to greater overestimate.
