In this paper, a method for combining results across independent-groups and repeated measures designs is described, and the conditions under which such an analysis is appropriate are discussed, and a meta-analysis procedure using design-specific estimates of sampling variance is described.
Abstract
When a meta-analysis on results from experimental studies is conducted, differences in the study design must be taken into consideration. A method for combining results across independent-groups and repeated measures designs is described, and the conditions under which such an analysis is appropriate are discussed. Combining results across designs requires that (a) all effect sizes be transformed into a common metric, (b) effect sizes from each design estimate the same treatment effect, and (c) meta-analysis procedures use design-specific estimates of sampling variance to reflect the precision of the effect size estimates.

A Meta-Analysis of Testing Mode Effects in Grade K-12 Mathematics Tests.

TL;DR: This article conducted a meta-analysis of computer-based and paper-and-pencil administration mode effects on K-12 student mathematics tests and found that the administration mode had no statistically significant effect on student mathematics test scores.

Effects of Mindfulness-Based Therapies for Female Sexual Dysfunction: A Meta-Analytic Review.

TL;DR: All aspects of sexual function and subjective sexual well-being exhibited significant improvement during MBT, with effect sizes generally moderate, and MBT may be an efficacious intervention for FSD.

How mindfulness training promotes positive emotions: Dismantling acceptance skills training in two randomized controlled trials.

TL;DR: These studies provide the first experimental evidence that developing an orientation of acceptance toward present-moment experiences is a central mechanism of mindfulness interventions for boosting positive emotions in daily life.

Personality and relationship quality during the transition from high school to early adulthood.

TL;DR: Change in relationship quality was found to be associated with personality change during the post-school transition, indicating that personality traits may influence transition success and that change in relationships during this transition may influence personality development.
