The X-ray Luminosity Function of "The Antennae" Galaxies (NGC4038/39) and the Nature of Ultra-Luminous X-ray Sources

TL;DR: In this article, the authors derived the X-ray luminosity function (XLF) of the source population detected in the Chandra observation of NGC4038/39 (the Antennae) and explicitly included photon counting and spectral parameter uncertainties in their calculations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Collision induced dissociative chemisorption of CH4 on Ni(111) by inert gas atoms: The mechanism for chemistry with a hammer

TL;DR: In this article, collision induced dissociative chemisorption of CH4 physisorbed on Ni(111) at 46 K is observed to be induced by the impact of incident inert gas atoms.
Journal ArticleDOI

Global and Target Analysis of Complex Decay Phenomena

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for simultaneous analysis of multiple total intensity, anisotropy, and excited-state reactions is proposed for both anisotropic and excited state reaction data.
Journal ArticleDOI

Modeling alkane+perfluoroalkane interactions using all-atom potentials: Failure of the usual combining rules

TL;DR: In this article, the ability of the OPLS-AA models of alkanes and perfluoroalkanes recently developed by Jorgensen and co-workers to represent the unusual mixing behavior of alkane+perfluoroalkane systems was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

A model for the computer analysis of synchronous DNA distributions obtained by flow cytometry

TL;DR: A new model for obtaining the distributions of cells in the cell cycle by computer analysis of flow cytometry data is proposed and results show good agreement between the percentage S-phase cells determined by the model and by autoradiography.
