A Survey of Extragalactic Faraday Rotation at High Galactic Latitude: The Vertical Magnetic Field of the Milky Way Toward the Galactic Poles
Shude Mao,Shude Mao,Bryan Gaensler,M. Haverkorn,Ellen G. Zweibel,G. J. Madsen,Naomi McClure-Griffiths,Anvar Shukurov,P. P. Kronberg,P. P. Kronberg +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the vertical magnetic field of the Milky Way toward the Galactic poles was determined from observations of Faraday rotation toward more than 1000 polarized extragalactic radio sources at Galactic latitudes using the Westerbork Radio Synthesis Telescope and the Australia Telescope Compact Array.

TL;DR: Maia detector array and integrated real-time processor have been developed to acquire Xray fluorescence images using X-ray Fluorescence Microscopy (XFM). Maia has been deployed initially at the Australian Synchrotron and more recently, demonstrating improvements in energy resolution, at the P06 beamline at Petra III in Germany as discussed by the authors.

A new method for observing the rotational spectra of weak molecular complexes: KrHCl
TL;DR: In this article, the rotational transitions of weak molecular complexes were observed by combining the techniques of microwave Fourier transform spectroscopy, a Fabry-Perot cavity, and a pulsed nozzle source of molecules.
Journal ArticleDOI
STIS Coronagraphic Imaging of Fomalhaut: Main Belt Structure and the Orbit of Fomalhaut b
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented new optical coronagraphic data of Fomalhaut b obtained with HST/STIS in 2010 and 2012, and the two epochs of Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph (STIS) photometry exclude optical variability greater than 35%.

Analysis of oxygen metabolism implies a neural origin for the negative BOLD response in human visual cortex
TL;DR: The negative response is a functionally significant index of neural deactivation in early visual cortex and implies that the magnitude of any hemodynamic artifact is inconsequential.
