Dielectric properties of smectite clays

TLDR
In this paper, the dielectric properties of a series of smectite clays, namely, Na+, Li + and Cu ++ -fluorohectorites, Na + montmorillonite and Na + laponite have been measured as a function of water content over the frequency range 40−10 5 Hz.

Removal of 2,4-DCP from wastewater by CTAB/bentonite using one-step and two-step methods: A comparative study

TL;DR: In this paper, the removal of 2,4-dichlorophenol from aqueous solutions by bentonite/CTAB was studied using two ways: the first one using organophilic bentonite as adsorbent.

Exfoliated and intercalated polyamide-imide nanocomposites with montmorillonite

TL;DR: In this paper, the surface of the cast sample has increased edge-edge clay platelet attraction, and transmission electron microscopy of the through thickness sample indicated platelet edges, increased face-face coagulated states and some edge−edge flocculated states of tactoid formation.

Structure, Energetics, and Dynamics of Smectite Clay Interlayer Hydration: Molecular Dynamics and Metadynamics Investigation of Na-Hectorite

TL;DR: In this article, a model for interlayer H2O structure and dynamics based on 2H NMR spectroscopy is presented, which shows that H 2O molecules undergo simultaneous fast librational motions about the C2 symmetry axis and site hopping with C3 symmetry with respect to the surface normal.

Dielectric relaxation in solids

TL;DR: In this paper, a broad-brush view of dielectric relaxation in solids is presented, making use of the existence of a universality of Dielectric response regardless of a wide diversity of materials and structures with dipolar as well as charge-carrier polarization.

On the origin of the universal dielectric response in condensed matter

TL;DR: The observed dielectric response of most materials is seldom in accord with Debye behaviour, but has been found experimentally to exhibit a remarkable "universality".
