Potential of nano-carbon xerogels in the remediation of dye-contaminated water discharges

TL;DR: In this paper, a series of porous carbon xerogels were synthesized from resorcinol-formaldehyde resin (RF), using R/C, molar ratios (50, 200, 500, and 1000), and carbonization temperatures of 500, 600 and 700 °C, under no external gas flow.

Influence of solvent species used in solvent exchange for preparation of mesoporous carbon xerogels from resorcinol and formaldehyde via subcritical drying

TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of solvent species in the solvent exchange for the preparation of carbon xerogels cooperated by the evaporation drying and the vacuum drying is studied. But the results illustrate that the mesoporous carbon xersogels in the two subcritical dryings can be easily prepared by solvent exchange.

Organic aerogels from the polycondensation of resorcinol with formaldehyde

TL;DR: In this paper, the polycondensation of resorcinol with formaldehyde under alkaline conditions results in the formation of surface functionalized polymer "clusters" which are processed under supercritical conditions to obtain low density, organic aerogels.
