Evaluation of flocculation induced by pH increase for harvesting microalgae and reuse of flocculated medium

TLDR
This study revealed that the microalgal biomass concentrations and released polysaccharide from microalgae could influence the flocculation efficiencies, and neutralizing pH and then supplementing nutrients allowed the flocculated medium to maintain an approximate growth yield to that of the fresh medium in algal cultivation.

Flocculatin with Chitosan of Microalgae Native of the Colombian Plateau

TL;DR: This study found that the optimal flocculation efficiency of microalgae was determined at pH 7.0; besides the zeta-potential was positively correlated with the flocculant dose, the zetaspotential increases positively with a floc Vulgarium dose, and the zetting-potsential increases positive with aFlocculation response of the microalga Scenedesmus sp.
