TL;DR: Previous suggestions of a mediating role of methylation at sites identified in peripheral blood, such as cg05575921-AHRR, could be unfounded, but this study does not preclude the possibility that differential DNAmethylation at other sites is causally involved in lung cancer development, especially within lung tissue.
Journal ArticleDOI
Quantification of familial risk of nasopharyngeal carcinoma in a high-incidence area
Zhiwei Liu,Ellen T. Chang,Ellen T. Chang,Qing Liu,Yonglin Cai,Zhe Zhang,Guomin Chen,Qi Hong Huang,Shang Hang Xie,Su Mei Cao,Jian Yong Shao,Wei Hua Jia,Yuming Zheng,Jian Liao,Yufeng Chen,Longde Lin,Liming Liang,Ingemar Ernberg,Thomas L. Vaughan,Thomas L. Vaughan,Hans-Olov Adami,Hans-Olov Adami,Guangwu Huang,Yi Zeng,Yi Xin Zeng,Weimin Ye +25 more
TL;DR: To the authors' knowledge, no studies to date have explored familial risks of nasopharyngeal carcinoma in detail and quantified its lifetime risk in high‐incidence populations.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Single-Visit Approach as a Cervical Cancer Prevention Strategy Among Women With HIV in Ethiopia: Successes and Lessons Learned.
Netsanet Shiferaw,Graciela Salvador-Davila,Konjit Kassahun,Mohamad I. Brooks,Teklu Weldegebreal,Yewondwossen Tilahun,Habtamu Zerihun,Tariku Nigatu,Kidest Lulu,Ismael Ahmed,Paul D. Blumenthal,Mengistu Asnake +11 more
TL;DR: The high proportions of VIA screening and cryotherapy treatment in the Addis Tesfa project suggest high acceptance of such services by women with HIV and feasibility of implementation in secondary- and tertiary-level health facilities.
